The edge finder is used to accurately locate the workpiece in relation to the electrode by audio tone and light indicators. Self-contained power supply (9V battery) with fuse protection and low current between electrode and workpiece. Ease of operation.
Make sure EDM machine is in standby mode and/or disconnect or disable arc leads. Connect one clip to electrode and other clip to workpiece. Move machine table as to bring workpiece and electrode into contact gently. When tone is audible and/or light comes on contact is made at this point. The relation of the edge of the part is now to the edge of the electrode.
